VISITING ARTIST: LEGENDARY PIANIST & MASTER PEDAGOGUE MENAHEM PRESSLER
The School of Music is excited to present pianist and pedagogue Menahem Pressler in a free master class on Monday, Feb. 8, from noon to 2 p.m. in Libby Gardner Concert Hall. A six-time Grammy nominee, Pressler is also a founding member of the Beaux-Arts Trio and is a Distinguished Professor at one of the largest and most prestigious music schools in the world, Indiana University. The Los Angeles Times praised him, saying “Pressler’s joyous pianism – technically faultless, stylistically impeccable, emotionally irrepressible – is from another age … He is a national treasure.” Pressler is a member of the juries of The Van Cliburn, Queen Elisabeth, and Arthur Rubenstein international piano competitions. The National Society of Arts and Letters has recognized him for “a long and distinguished career not only as an internationally recognized concert artist but also a teacher and mentor of young artists.” For more information, please visit menahempressler.org.
